TRAVEL INSURANCE

Christians Abroad is pleased to make travel, baggage, accident and emergency insurance available to all Christian travellers to anywhere in the world who are working in mission or development as well as when they may need a holiday. We also provide travel, accident and emergency insurance and policies for anyone visiting or working in Christian projects or community development abroad. You would be a part of  a group policy with Christians Abroad through a well known and trusted provider in Banner Financial Services. The response record in emergencies, accidents etc. among our clients has been excellent. As a member of our group policy you are accepted as a volunteer or mission associate and have access to our support services.

Our group policy provides 

  • flexible low cost insurance cover for travellers.
  • for adults of any age but cover for persons aged  85 or over are at a higher premium.
  • a lower 'child' rate for all persons under the age of 18 or, if a student in Higher Education under the age of 25.
  • baggage and document insurance for loss or damage whilst travelling (£50 excess)
  • for manual labour, working with hand held electrical tools, use of ladders etc.
  • cancellation or curtailment of journeys (£50 excess)
  • hijack, kidnap and detention.
  • legal expenses in pursuit of compensation for an injury.
  • medical and emergency travel expenses (£50 excess).
  • no travel against medical advice or to seek treatment.  Chronic conditions not covered. Pre-existing medical conditions that are stable and controlled are covered. No pre-sceening..
  • for commencement of your journey from outside Europe.
  • inclusion in our group policy if you are normally resident of any one of 61 different countries including United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, France, Germany, Cayman Islands, Hong Kong SAR, Malawi,  Zimbabwe, Barbados, Jamaica, New Zealand, Singapore and more.

There is a minimum premium per individual of £10.00.  There will be higher premiums for those travelling to  Afghanistan, Chechnya, Central African Republic, DRC, Egypt, Iran,  Iraq, Israel- West Bank/Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Libya,Niger,  Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan, Syria. Ukraine and Yemen. It is possible to purchase War and Terrorism Cover in these places at a high premium which will cover you for incidents which are attributed to acts of war or terrorism. Terrorism is normally covered in those countries  not listed above as part of the standard premium.

 If you intend to be overseas for more than one year...state Annual. Annual Insurance assumes that you will be returning to the UK at least once every two years. You might need medical insurance for longer absences ( see medical insurance tab.)
